If you are a small business owner planning your own marketing efforts OR you’re part of a digital marketing team, you know that having the right digital marketing tools can make all the difference.

The right tools can help you work more efficiently, reach your target audience more effectively, and measure your results more accurately.

But with so many different options out there, it can be tough to know which ones are worth your time and money.

Luckily, we’re here to help. In this article, we’ll share some of our favorite tools for growing your business.

#1) Click-Up

Ok so Clickup isn’t natively a marketing tool. Any business can use Clickup for operations, payroll, sales, fulfillment… but hear me out. With so many moving parts, having a solid place to plan all your campaigns, track projects and have a single source of truth for your team, ClickUp has been our go-to project management tool for the last year.

Click-Up’s features allow businesses to manage their marketing campaigns effectively and efficiently. From project management and task tracking to collaboration and communication, Click-Up has everything businesses need to succeed in the digital world.

Click-Up’s user-friendly interface makes it easy for businesses to get started and see results quickly. And with its flexible pricing plans, we have found Click-Up to be affordable and scalable no matter where your business is.

There are a ton of project management tools out there. Here’s a few reasons ClickUp is my favorite:

  1. Templates – once you have workflows and SOPS created, templates ensure we actually follow that process. Having template for tasks, projects and even type of clients means that we can spend less brainpower on the how and when and more on getting it done well!
  2. Views – half of our team prefers lists (think Asana) and the other half lives for a good board view (think Trello). ClickUp gives you the best of both worlds allowing each team member to seamlessly switch views with the click of a button.

#2) Leadsie

Sooo turns out digital marketing campaigns aren’t ALL about the marketing. The biggest factor of our success? Communication! And communication starts with onboarding. When we onboard a new client we need access to Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Engine, Facebook Pixels, Pages, Ad accounts, domains and so much more.

Not only can it be entirely overwhelming for business owners like you to figure out how the heck to share all of that when Facebook changes their portal every damn day, it’s a total time killer.

That’s where Leadsie comes in. It’s not just a tool.

Last but not least, Leadsie is easy to use. You don’t need any technical skills to get started, and it’s simple to set up and get started with right away. With 1 click, you can get access to all these tools and more form your clients or any partners you’re running campaigns with.

#3) Pallyy

Social media marketing is a great way to not only grow your brand but increase your lead flow. At the end of the day, it’s easy to forget to make that post when you’re putting gout fires, helping your team and trying to scale lean.

If you don’t post it, they don’t come.

That’s why we relay on a social scheduler. And BOYYYY have we tried them all. Pallyy is a newcomer in the scene – you know hoe we like to be ahead of the game around here. Though it may be small (and not as widely known), it is a powerful tool that can help you create social media posts that are more engaging and effective.

Unless you’re new around here, you know that data is our best friend. So of course need anlaytics to ensure our time is being spent well and to learn what adjustments we can make to squeeze more out of your budget.

Pallyy’s anlaytics provides insane data so we can see how content is performing and make changes accordingly. Not only can we view data, the reports and dashboards you can create are great time savers for busy business owners.

Here’s just a few of our other favorite features:

  • Separate each brand into their own calendar
  • Competitor tracking feature
  • Scheduling for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn (business and personal), Pinterest, and Google My Business
  • Visual Instagram Bio Link
  • Intuitive and clean user interface
  • Hashtag libraries
  • And soooo much more

Overall, if you’re looking for a new social media scheduler or just dipping your toes into the world of scheduling your social media posts, Pallyy should be on your list.

#4) Slack

Slack is quickly becoming a staple in communication. Remember, scheduling a post or launching a campaign is only half the battle. Nothing happens without communication. Of course there are other options (Teams, Discord etc.) but we are die-hard slack fans.

Here’s why:

Slack allows for real-time communication and collaboration between team members. This is essential in fast-paced digital marketing environments where quick turnaround times are often required.

The integrations: We love how many tools that our team uses on a daily basis that we can integrate with Slack. Tools like:

  1. Loom
  2. google Calendar
  3. Zoom
  4. Giphy (because everyone needs gifs in their life)
  5. Google Drive
  6. ClickUp
  7. PandaDoc
  8. KnowYour Team
  9. Canva
  10. Calendly
  11. … and so much more

This allows for a seamless workflow and helps to ensure that everyone is on the same page.

We also take full advantage of communicating with clients in Slack. Look, work/life balance for our team is incredibly important. In fact Boundaries and Balance is one of our core values. We want to be available and accessible for our clients, but that doesn’t mean you should be texting us. We have a boundary around that. BUT if you like that instant communication – slack is an amazing alternative. We can turn off notifications during off hours and still get your message when we sign back in.

As a bit of a night owl, I also love that I can schedule messages. Because of those boundaries we just talked about, I do NOT want to bother my team after hours. That time is their time and my weird hours don’t need to be their weird hours … buuuuut because of my ADHD, I do want to get a thought or question out of my head before it disappears. No worries – I can just schedule that message to send tomorrow morning.

Overall, Slack is a powerful communication and collaboration tool that can be extremely beneficial for any team – we just happen to be a marketing team. If you’re not already using Slack in your team, it’s definitely worth considering!

#5) Loom

If you’re working in digital marketing, odds are you’ve come across Loom at some point. If you haven’t, well, consider this your introduction. Loom is a video messaging tool that allows teams to communicate more effectively and efficiently. We use it to document our processes, show a client our latest designs, welcome new team members, submit support tickets and so much more.

Here’s why Loom is so important for growing a team:

1. Loom allows for quick and easy communication.

In digital marketing, time is of the essence. Loom allows for quick and easy communication between team members, which means tasks can be completed more quickly and efficiently.

2. Loom eliminates misunderstandings.

With Loom, team members can record video messages to one another instead of relying on email or instant messaging. This eliminates the potential for miscommunication and ensures that everyone is on the same page.

3. Loom builds relationships.

Loom provides an opportunity for team members to build relationships with one another. When team members can see each other’s faces and hear each other’s voices, it’s easier to build trust and rapport. Same goes for clients. The psychologic studies on how relationships change when we can HEAR people versus written communication such as email or slack are so interesting.

4. Loom saves time.

Digital marketing is a fast-paced industry, and teams need to be able to communicate quickly and efficiently. Loom helps teams save time by allowing for quick, easy communication between team members.

5. Loom is fun!

Loom is a great way to inject some fun into digital marketing. With its quick and easy communication, Loom can help team members bond and even share some laughs together.

Whether you’re new to digital marketing or a seasoned pro, Loom is a tool that can help your team communicate more effectively. Give it a try today!

Canva is an easy-to-use online platform that provides users with everything they need to create stunning visuals for their marketing campaigns. Canva is also extremely affordable, which makes it a great tool for businesses on a tight budget. With Canva, businesses can create high-quality visuals without breaking the bank – they are a force to be reckoned with.

Overall, Canva is an essential tool for digital marketing teams as it allows them to easily create any type of marketing material they can imagine, from social media graphics, to video templates, brochures, presentations, and so much more.

#7) Mailchimp

image 6

Mailchimp is great tool for digital marketing teams. It provides a way to automate email marketing campaigns and track results. This can save teams a lot of time and increase their effectiveness. They have come a looooong way in the last decade. In fact, 6 years ago Mailchimp would not have been on our list but the features they have added plus the support and cost makes them a contender if you’re not ready for something like HubSpot yet.

You can use Mailchimp to:

  • Automate your email marketing campaigns to nurture your new leads
  • Communicate any promotions
  • Share your latest Trust Content
  • Track your results
  • Save time
  • Increase your effectiveness
  • Design appealing layouts (and save them as templates to use again)
  • Track your leads and
  • Even build a website (but I don’t recommend this. We are diehard WordPress and Elementor fans)

Overall, Mailchimp is a great option for small business owners and digital marketing teams to use in their email marketing efforts. It’s easy to use, affordable, and packed with features. Plus, it integrates with a lot of other popular platforms you might already be using.

#8) Descript

Ok so you know all that content you’re supposed to film… and then edit? Yea, unless you’re a trained video editor, I’m guessing that’s a bit intimidating. And even if you are a trained video editor, Descript is still a powerful tool that can help you record, edit, and transcribe audio and video content.

Even if you’ve used Descript, chances are you may not realize how powerful it can be. They are making innovative updates all the time. Here are three ways that Descript can help your digital marketing team:

1. Descript can help digital marketing teams save time.

If your team is spending hours transcribing audio and video content, Descript can help you save time by automatically transcribing your content for you (Yep, you don’t need Rev anymore). This frees up your team’s time so that they can focus on other tasks, like creating new marketing campaigns.

The main groundbreaking feature of descript is that you can edit videos by deleting the text you see on screen. When they say “All-in-one audio & video editing, as easy as a doc” they aren’t kidding. You need to watch one of their videos to truly understand how easy it is to edit podcasts and videos.

My favorite part of Descript is how easy it is to remove every “umm” in one click. Seriously.

2. Descript can help digital marketing teams improve their content.

Because Descript generates transcripts of your audio and video content, it can be used to create those social videos you see with titles and burnt-in captions – like the one below 👇🏼. (Hint: burnt in captions are SO important. Have you ever thought about how many people scroll with their phone muted?!).

image 7

3. Descript can help digital marketing teams work more efficiently.

With Live Collaboration, multiple users can edit Descript projects at the same time. Like Google docs, there’s a spot for notes. It’s also super quick and easy to change the size of your video content so you can repurpose 1 piece of content across multiple platforms? Want to post a Reel and a YouTube video from one recording session? Not a problem with Descript. Video storage in itself an be extremely expensive. Those files are pretty big after all. No more file management or backup. Descript automatically saves changes to the cloud as you work and you can store everything in neat folders.

Last but not least, Descript saves old versions of your Projects so you can restore them if something goes wrong. they have a ton of other features (voice-overs, upload direct to Youtube….) and I could go on and on but if you need to edit videos, improve your content and save time, just go check them out.

#9) Google Analytics

image 8

So again… you’re not new around here right? Data is our BFF. And nobody is the Queen 👑 of data like Google. Digital marketing teams can’t function without Google Analytics. Dramatic? Maybe. Accurate? YES.

It’s a successful team’s digital nervous system, allowing them to track and analyze data so they can make informed decisions about their digital marketing, as well as to be used in conjunction with Google Adwords.

Google Analytics is essential for understanding how your digital marketing efforts are performing, what keywords are driving traffic to your website, and which channels are most effective. Without Google Analytics, digital marketing teams would be flying blind and cannot truly understand changes that need to be made to your site to reflect google’s algorithm updates.

Gaining Google Analytics expertise is also important for understanding your audience. You can use it to track where your visitors are coming from, what they’re interested in, and how they interact with your website. This information is essential for developing targeted digital marketing campaigns that will resonate with your audience.

Sure there are other tools out there…. I invite you to show me one more powerful than Google.

By understanding the search suggestions that Uber Suggest provides, marketing teams can get a better sense of the topics and keywords that their audience is interested in. This helps them to create more targeted and effective content that resonates with their audience.

Uber Suggest is also a valuable tool for competitor analysis to use in Google AdWords. By understanding what keywords and topics your competitors are targeting, you can adjust your own digital marketing strategy to better position yourself in the market.

Overall, Uber Suggest is a powerful tool that any digital marketer should make use of to improve their content strategy and keyword research.
